Company History

1981
SOTA Technology founded by David R. Kistner & Charlie Kistner to provide Roll Formed and Stamped metal products.

1983

Expanded manufacturing operations from a 3,000 sqft facility to a 11,000 sqft facility in Troy, MI.

1985

Added additional 11,000 sqft facility to support automotive stamping operations. SOTA becomes Tier1 supplier.

1988

Started construction on new 55,000 sqft facility in Troy, MI. to combine manufacturing operations in one facility.

1990

Founded Line Products to supply Molded products to FORD motor company.

1992
Combined SOTA & Line Products in a 78,000 sqft facility in Oxford, MI.

1994

Expands capabilities to provide Class A automotive components.  

1996

Expands stamping operations to entire 78,000 sqft facility.

1998

Installed new 330Ton Press Line.

2000

SOTA becomes a supplier to a new leading 2nd stage automotive manufacture.

2002

SOTA awarded Tahoe, Blazer, S-10, Silverado, Escalade, Denali programs.

2004

Expands capabilities to tube bending to supply automotive brush guards to H2 Hummer.

2006

Finished Construction on new 65,000 sqft facility in Oxford, MI.

2008

Upgrade Engineering Support with Solid works 3D Design software.

2010

Installed new 485Ton Press Line.

2012

Diversified customers and products to non-automotive segments.

2014

SOTA acquires tooling supplier with 30 year relationship.

2016

Expands engineering support and tooling design with Logopress3 software.
